Electronic Arts ha anunciado que dará fin al servicio multiplayer a 50 titulos a partir del 30 Junio, entre ellos destacan Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Crysis 2, entre muchos más.
“Es difícil tomar la decisión de retirar juegos de antaño, sabemos que tanto desarrolladores como fans ponen su corazón en algunos de ellos, sin embargo; confiamos en que los juegos nuevos sean de igual o mayor agrado a nuestros seguidores”
Para dar de baja los servidores, se hacen algunos estudios, de los usuarios en linea que tuvo el juego en su apogeo, a los que hoy en día se encuentran jugando. Muchos de los juegos mencionados, tienen una población menor del 1% y no tiene caso invertir dinero y esfuerzo en ello.
